I've had such a blast over the past few weeks creating my website, creating new patterns, and sewing them up!
I appreciate every one of you that have visited my site and subscribed to my emails! You're support and encouragement means absolutely everything to me!
I am so happy to share with you all "THE KING" - my newest FPP Pattern, AVAILABLE NOW!

Here are some fun pictures of my process!

I started by figuring out what fabrics I wanted to use for this project. This pattern comes with fabric requirements and a color code system. I took a little square of each fabric and glued it to my color key so it was easy for me to tell which fabric was needed as i'm sewing.
Usually when I am sewing a pattern that is symmetrical, I sew both sides at the same time. But for this quilt I decided to sew one side at a time. Since I have the color coding system for this quilt, it made it so much easier. If i was usual scrap fabric, I would always do both sides at the same time to ensure I am using the same fabrics on both sides.
I find when I am sewing FPP, I make a huge mess! I am going to come up with a system to stay a bit more organized and tidy while I sew, but here's to the messy sewing club!

Once I had both sides finished, it was just one center seam left! When doing the center seam, I make sure to pin each point that needs to match, and I leave the pins in while sewing. I just go slowly over them as to not break my needle.
I was torn over What I wanted to do for the border. I have this gold fabric that has some gold glitter that I thought might be nice! But I was feeling like it pulled focus from the lion, plus the yellow was different enough that it didn't feel like it fit with this block.
I also have some wood grain fabric already cut into 5" strips. I like that it doesn't distract from the lion, and it also gives it a more rustic look. So this is what I went with.

AND TA-DA! He is done! I am so happy with how he turned out! He feels so powerful and regal. I cannot wait to get him quilted and hung up on my wall!
If you'd like to make this quilt, it is 50" x 50" (without the border) and the pattern can be found here:
If you do make him, I would love to see! Tag me on social media @juliushandmade and be sure to use the hashtag #JULIUSHANDMADEQUILTS
Looking forward to the next project! Happy quilting everyone!

I bought this pattern off Etsy and then found your page. Looking at the pattern the only thing confusing me is where it says glue in the seam of some of the pieces. Is there some instruction you can guide me to so I know what I need to do on that part? Thank you. I’m so excited to do this pattern.
Will have to try this!
