From Friday, October 23rd through Sunday, October 25th, 2026, quilters across the world will gather online for three unforgettable days of sewing, learning, laughing, and creating. This immersive retreat features five powerhouse instructors, each teaching a signature technique and guiding participants through five beginner-friendly projects.
Every day runs 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM Central, with 4‑hour sessions, built‑in breaks, and plenty of time to recharge your creativity.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS
Dee Bushrod
Dee Bushrod is a quilt artist, designer and educator and the creator of Pixel Quilts. Originally from England and now based in Oklahoma, Dee specializes in transforming photographs and images into quilts made from thousands of tiny squares of fabric.
Known for her bold portrait quilts and approachable teaching style, Dee loves showing quilters that Pixel Quilting is far easier than it looks! Through her classes, lectures and retreats, she takes the mystery out of the process and gives quilters the skills and confidence to create something completely their own.
When she isn’t cutting fabric into ridiculously small squares, Dee can usually be found baking sourdough, dreaming up her next creative project, or spending time with Jay, their kids Maddy and Josh, and the two very spoiled pugs, Ladybug and Bella.
Originally a reluctant quilter who once wondered why anyone would need more than one sewing machine, Dee now owns enough of them to know better.

Julius Rempe - Night
Julius Rempe-Night, founder of JULIUS HANDMADE is a quilt designer, maker, and teacher. With a deep love for Foundation Paper Piecing and over eight years of hands-on experience, Julius is known for his bold, geometric style and thoughtful storytelling. Julius has created a wide range of quilt and block patterns that invite others to explore their own creativity.
His work reflects a passion not just for design, but for building community – encouraging quilters of all levels to dive in, experiment, and make something truly personal. Whether he's sharing techniques or unveiling a new collection, Julius brings fresh energy to a craft that’s both timeless and ever-evolving.

Lela O'Dell
A quilter for 10 years, Lela O’Dell enjoys creating improvisational contemporary folk designs with unconventional, primarily repurposed, textiles. She often starts her original compositions by making multiples of the same block pattern in a variety of fabrics, then finds a balanced harmony within all those variations. Letting go of perfection and embracing the unforeseen are key to Lela’s process.
Lela's quilts have been juried into a variety of shows including QuiltCon ‘23, Quilts=Art=Quilts at Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, NY, and the International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX. Lela currently calls Oklahoma City home, along with husband Mike O’Dell of Legit Kits, their three teenage children, three cats and one dog.

Michael Eason
Michael Eason is a modern quilt designer, educator, and founder of Quilchemy. A quilter for more than 20 years, Michael found a new creative direction through modern quilting and English Paper Piecing, eventually moving beyond traditional patterns and shapes to explore what EPP could become as a tool for original design.
Today, Michael shares that approach through workshops at quilt festivals, guilds, and virtual events, encouraging quilters to see EPP as more than a technique for following a pattern. His own work has also been selected for exhibition, reflecting the same curiosity and willingness to experiment that he brings to the classroom.
Michael combines the slow, tactile nature of hand stitching with an intuitive approach to design—drawing, experimenting, rearranging, and allowing an idea to evolve along the way. For him, some of the most interesting quilts begin not with a finished plan, but simply with permission to play.

Joshua Dunn
Joshua Dunn is the modern and contemporary quilter and creative maker behind Lifting and Stitching. Since 2020, Joshua has been blending his interests in science and art, and creates bold, movement-driven quilt designs often inspired by cosmic imagery and the natural universe. Much of his work is influenced by music, story and memory, which threads his life as an intentional layer into his designs.

THE WORKSHOPS
In this 4 hour workshop, Dee will begin by explaining how you can create your own pixel quilt from an image, taking the mystery out of the design process.
Then it’s time to sew! You’ll learn to get hands-on experience with the two different methods for piecing pixel quilts: traditional piecing and pixel grid interfacing. During the workshop, we’ll create a single cherry blossom made up of nine pixel blocks, taken from Dee’s larger Cherry Blossom Pixel Quilt pattern. This gives you the opportunity to try both construction methods on a manageable project while learning the techniques you’ll need to tackle a full Pixel Quilt. By the end of the session, you’ll have tried both piecing methods, understand the advantages of each, and feel confident choosing the technique that best suits the way you like to sew.
All participants will also receive a PDF copy of the complete Cherry Blossom Pixel Quilt pattern, so you can continue on and make the full quilt at home if you wish!

This Foundation Paper Piecing class turns those tiny scraps you usually toss aside into a bold, scrappy star block with limitless potential. Julius will dive into the FPP process step-by-step, learning how to turn that left over fabric into precise, striking quilt blocks.
In this class Julius will break everything down in a way that feels approachable, fun, and totally doable. By the end of class, you won’t just have a gorgeous scrappy star to show off; you’ll walk out feeling confident, empowered, and ready to tackle foundation paper piecing projects on your own.
Whether you are brand new to Foundation Paper Piecing, or have tried it in the past, Julius's technique make foundation paper piecing easy and exciting! Pattern will be available for download and will need to be printed prior to the workshop.
In this class Lela will demonstrate the techniques used in her latest quilt, Clown Power, based on ruler-free hourglass blocks. You will explore your own preferences with colors, sizes, and lines by making a variety of freeform hourglass units to begin composing your own perfectly imperfect, uniquely you story from those units. Leaning into what boosts your energy will strengthen your creative self-confidence, helping make improvisational design less daunting and way more fun! Each project will be a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!

This workshop will teach you an approachable and creative practice on curve piecing bringing into the universe a world of your own making. This is not just a technique class; it’s a small, personal cosmos built one curve at a time.
Students work through three thematic curvy blocks, each building deliberately on the last: a single curve for ease, a scrappy pieced planet, and a small four-point star pulled from the negative space between the curves. The final piece is a work of art, ready to become a pillow or a wall hanging at home.
